Better Living Sunrooms - Three Or Four Seasons

3 season sunrooms provides a romantic getaway from the entire world amidst all delicacies. You can enjoy the warm sun, the bright daylight, the starry skies, and the rainy night but safely in the interiors of glass doors. Barring the natural attacks like insects and adverse weather conditions, the sunrooms are simply perfect for people wanting to enjoy nature outside within the comfort of home, inside.

This is a special type of sunroom that promises you with al fresco enjoyment subtracting the fluctuating weather conditions, seasonal detriments and unusual insect attacks. So while you are experiencing the charm of being at home even when you are outside, the 3 season sunrooms prevent the imposition of adverse weather conditions on you. The 3 season sunrooms are, thus, a dream-come true haven for romantics who want some time for their secret tryst and also for young-at-heart people who love to be amidst Nature.

The 3 season sunroom characteristic can be added to the patio rooms, gazebos and home-attached screen enclosure rooms. These sunrooms come with superior insulated glass doors and other additional structural wonders. One of the structural wonders includes windows on any one or more of the walls. But if you do not prefer the windows, you can design the sunroom as a solid block of enclosure as that will also add a great degree to the privacy of people and provide a great backdrop for wall decorations, a backyard bar or some shelves to be stacked on the walls.

Features Of A 3 Season Sunroom

The features of the 3 season sunrooms are simply amazing. There are insulated roof panels that come with a pre-coat of aluminum using the Krystal-Kote paint system. The advantage of this unique system is it ensures easier shedding down of ice and snow from the roof panels. The high luster of the paint makes these sunrooms far more durable than the sunrooms with conventional finish. This ultimate adhesive and laminating process is the state-of-the-art quality that aids the sunroom to bear superior loads. The roof panels of the sunrooms have an insulating rating of R14, which assists in keeping the rooms cooler in days/summers and warmer during the nights/winters, respectively.

The 3 season sunrooms have a 36" wide glass wall that comes with smooth rolling sliding doors and the ideal sizes available for 5-sides are 12' x 6'', 12' x 9', 12' x 12', 12' x 15' or 12' x 18'. The peak roof height on each side should be 10' and the sidewall height should be 6'6". A variety of colors that can add an altogether different décor to the sunroom are heron blue, sierra clay, burgundy, alabaster, black, fern green, gray, red, imperial brown, ivy green, maroon, mocha tan, terra cotta, Wedgwood blue, polar white, sandalwood, yellow, wicker, ivory, cream and white. So, that this brand of sunroom pays great attention to its details is amply evident from its insulated glass door panels, designed interiors and sophisticated look.

The 3 season sunrooms also have an additional barrier called thermal break structured into the design of the sunrooms. This characteristic structure prevents the transfer of outside cold from seeping in through the walls and into the room, promising maximum protection from cold weather. Sometimes the 3 season sunrooms come in package with non-permanent supplemental heating and cooling criteria that also provide additional climate control methods.

The 3 season sunrooms are constructed of anodized extruded aluminum along with insulated roof and gables. There are added structures like built-in-fascia and gutter systems that are typically built to withstand even cyclonic weather conditions. The 3 season sunroom can be built on top of the existing decks or concrete patios using outstanding items like fiberglass screens, vinyl windows, lightweight and four track aluminum frames.

Make 3 Season Room Your Recreation Room

A 3 season sunroom can be extended to become an all season sunroom. This happens when all the elements in the sunroom work together to hold out colder temperature through more days and nights thereby promising to keep the temperature normal and pleasant. These 3 season sunrooms features high-performance window systems, wall systems with insulation and thermal breaks, thermal roofs and thermal break systems in the base channel. In these all season sunrooms you can enjoy the winter sun and summer rain alike with the same comfortable feel.

However, the 3 season sunrooms enjoy non-permanent supplemental heat that keeps the rooms comfortable during evening or on particularly cold winter days. A piece of advice for laymen is try to use electric-baseboard heaters or electric simulated fireplaces instead of wood-burning heat generators to keep the rooms warm on cold wintry days. The electric based generators are preferable to wood-based generators because the latter adds a great quantity of moisture to the air, thereby producing a misty condensed vapor on the glass doors. This is known to considerably decrease the classy look of the sunrooms, so generate warmth within the sunrooms with electric-based generators.

The 3 seasons use maximum insulation properties in the window systems specially in the double-pane HPG 2000 glass windows that contribute to the extended seasonal use of the sunrooms. These windows perform multi-level functions providing maximum-duty protection against heat/cold transfers and solar UV penetrations of rays. This window becomes a thermally broke, insulated window with double insulated window unit that provides obstruction to heat from entering the interiors and resistance to cold from escaping outside. In addition, it is designed to also keep winter's desirable warmth comfortably in the interiors of the room.

Set against the backdrop of unique design; make the 3 season sunroom in your home a peaceful haven for all to have a friendly tryst and welcoming get-together.

Kitchen Faucets And Maintenance

Faucets in your house will not cease to function properly at a very frequent pace, but when a faucet packs it in it can cause quite a mess in your home. The most important part of preventing a really bad faucet accident that can cause considerable damage to a house is proper faucet maintenance. In other words, make sure that you take care of the problem as soon as you see kitchen faucets start to drip, instead of waiting to see how much water damage your kitchen cabinet can take! Most indoor plumbing problems are easy to remedy, even for the novice handyperson. There are some common leak problems within homes, and this article will help you decide how to deal with them.

The first common problem is leaky pipe joints within the kitchen. In the average house, the kitchen sees as much water flowing through it in a given day than any of the bathrooms. It is not surprising, then, that joints will spring leaks as time passes. In order to repair leaks, first locate the valve that controls the water output in the sink. Once you have located it, shut the water off. Next, remove the joint that is leaking and hold it up to the light. You should see light filtering through any holes or cracks in the line, and these need to be replaced. This can be done with plumber's tape, but make sure to wrap it tightly around the damaged portions. Once this is done, replace the joints and turn the water back on. If there is still a leak, you might have to repeat the process and check other areas, such as the fittings.

Another common problem area, especially in colder climates, is that pipes may freeze. This problem can be pretty annoying, as home owners will not always know which pipe it is that is frozen and is causing the problem. First, turn on all the faucets in your house. The ones that are not putting out water are the ones where the frozen pipe is attached. Shut off the faucets that are producing water and leave the other valves open. Now you will have to turn off the valve that brings water into the house.

There are several ways to thaw a pipe once you have located the frozen one. Determine the material the pipes are made of; a blow dryer or a heat gun can be used to thaw them out, but too much heat on a plastic line might melt it. If the ice plug formed due to a hole or crack in the pipe, you will want to repair it before your job is complete. In order to prevent more frozen pipes in the future you should consider wrapping them with insulation or heat tape, or building a heated space for the pipes to run through.

Renovating and Remodeling Your House

Add to the value of your home through renovation

There may be many reasons why you want to leave your old house and move to a new house. It may be because you find your house is very small or doesn't have enough, or even too much lawn or beautiful garden. It may also be very noisy in your current neighborhood, or perhaps you live near a busy street or freeway. Before deciding to leave your house, decide whether you can solve your problems through renovating or remodeling. In many cases, you can turn your house into a wonderful retreat, and an enjoyable place to be with a little home improvement.

Remodeling and Renovation are very economical compared to buying a new house, but proper planning is necessary to avoid costly errors. An estimated 2 to 6 percent of your loan will be spent as closing costs when taking out a mortgage for buying a new house. The costs identified with a home equity loan for remodeling or renovating your house are much smaller than that those involved with the new mortgage loan. Also, you may not recover the costs of past renovations if you opt to buy a new house.

Remember, however, that renovating an entire house or simply remodeling a few rooms can be a very difficult task. Be sure to hire a professional contractor and discuss the design and other specifics you wish to see as part of your renovation. You can make your dream house come true by adding all the desired touches. Before you start the project, discuss everything carefully with your family and your contractor! Sometimes, renovation can be very irritating. You have to bear noise, dust, dirt and other discomforts throughout the entire remodel until all is complete. In some cases you can even severely anger your neighbors. Despite the difficulties, however, renovating can be just as rewarding as purchasing a new property.

Here are a few easy steps to follow to ensure that your project is a success:

1) Make a complete list of every part of the room or house you plan to renovate or remodel. This will help you plan your budget and stay on budget

2)Get AT LEAST 3 BIDS FOR THE ENTIRE REMODEL, OR FOR EACH TASK YOU PLAN ON COMPLETING. This will allow you to compare prices and rule out dishonest contractors. It will also give you the ability to negotiate. Also ask for a completion date with each bid, as this will have a huge impact on the entire remodel, and also give you contractual leverage.

3)If you are doing many rooms at the same time, consider temporarily moving out. Living in a construction zone can be hazardous to your family's safety, and also their health. Peace of mind, privacy, and comfort can have a huge impact on your quality of life before during, and after the project is over.

4) Perform a careful analysis on your hourly or salaried income, and don't perform work to save money when you can spend the same amount of time working at your profession, and spend your earnings to have the work performed by a professional. When your project is complete you have to live with the finished product! Sometimes trying to save money will only cost you in the long run especially if you have to repair, or redo the work. A licensed bonded contractor must fix mistakes in their work, whereas your mistakes will stand out, and simply drive you crazy.

5) Try to enjoy the project, have long term vision, and stay motivated by thinking how much you'll enjoy the finished product. If you're planning on staying in your home for more than a year or two a job well done is PRICELESS!!!!

Preventing Water Damage in the Kitchen

The kitchen is often neglected even though it is often cleaned and warning signs of excess moisture and impending water damage are overlooked. Inspecting the following moisture sources will help in preventing damage where it is likely to happen

Refrigerator

The area behind the refrigerator is hardly ever inspected because it is relatively hard to reach. Inspecting this area will reduce the chance for water problems. water behind the refrigerator is a sign. Do not ignore it, fix immediately or hire an appliance technician. If you detect mold growth, clean it immediately. Locate the moisture and fix it. If you have an icemaker, check the hose to make sure it is sealed and attached to the water supply.

Sink and Countertop

The sink and countertop are highly watered areas in the house. Check regularly under the sink and remove the trash can and other stored items to search for leaks. A drip in the trap under the sink means drain problems and must be repaired fast. Look around the sink, slow draining pipes indicate a blocked drain. A dripping faucet must me repaired promptly. Pay attention to the countertop. If tiles are cracked or grout is missing, fix it to prevent water from pervading. Stained walls and floors around pipes indicate an internal leak that must be fixed to prevent additional damage.

Dishwasher

If the dishwasher doesn't empty after use, the main filter may be blocked and must be released promptly. When the sink overflows, it is usually due to back-ups. This problem usually occurs when the drain line is clogged. Clean the drain line regularly. Look under the base of the dishwasher for leaks. If you find any leaks, there could be an unsealed joint or a damaged hose. Check the connection and fix as needed. Check the dishwasher hose under the sink for signs of leakage and fix if necessary. Consider installing steel-braided hoses on appliances such as the dishwasher.

Wow! Outdoor Tiles : Any Image, Any Size

Something amazing is happening in the world of ceramic tiles—Outdoor tile murals-------A new and exciting way to have a dramatic focal point outdoors on the floor or walls.

Imagine a dining room far from the kitchen heat, a reading nook with natural light, a place to restore your positive energy, a room with bragging rights. All this could be as close as your backyard .What could be more enticing than a group of people gathered around a fabulous outdoor patio grill with a Tuscan Landscape tile mural as a backdrop or a ceramic tile rug for the patio floor between 2 outdoor couches that is patterned and fringed in an Oriental, Moroccan, or SouthWesten theme

Patios provide private sanctuaries for family and friends, and offer an interlude from frenetic activities of the main house. Patios are getting decked out in fun things which reflect the inside of your home. - Tile murals can fit any style or theme and can coordinate with furniture, fabrics or wallpapers. You might consider vintage labels as your theme-- Maybe International, California or personalized wine labels, fruit crate and orange crate labels from Florida or sunny California. If you have a green thumb try adding seed packet labels and botanical floral prints. If you are a traveller you might like vintage hotel, airline, train or boat labels. or vintage posters from the 30's. Beer labels are a particula favorite.

Upon hearing that YOU can have any image, any size tile mural or tile display, outdoors, YOU will likely get the urge to furnish your patios around a dramatic image. : ).Please visit my website to see an extensive collection of images.... www.AliciaTappDesigns.com

Kitchen Remodeling Checklist: Are Your Prepared?

Did you know that remodeling your kitchen is one of the most common home additions that people do these days? The kitchen is one of the hotspots of most houses. People are constantly coming in and out of the kitchen, getting food, talking on the phone and using the kitchen a socialization point of the entire house. We've talked to a whole bunch of contractors who've told us that kitchen work can be some of the most difficult yet most rewarding for both the home owner and the contractor. Let's take a look at some of the factors you should strive for if you are seriously considering undertaking a kitchen remodeling.

1) Is your contractor reliable? I can't count the number of friends that I have who have had problems with contractors. Kitchen remodeling is no different. If you hire a contractor to redo your kitchen, make sure they come with great references from uninterested parties. There is nothing worse than have a kitchen that is only ½ way done after the contractor decides to disappear midway through the job.

2) Is your kitchen so complex that you will end up paying a ton of money? We know several people who had unrealistic expectations before getting their kitchens remodeled. They either ended up with a kitchen that wasn't as nice as they wanted or they ended up paying through the nose. Be realistic about what you want and what you can afford.

3) Are you informed about the kitchen remodeling process? Without knowledge of the kitchen remodeling process, points #1 and #2 aren't really all that important. Like everything, there are tricks and tips to make sure that your project comes out looking fantastic while not paying too much money. The insiders know exactly what to do and what to say to make sure that their project turns out looking like the kitchen of their dreams. Get informed on the entire process before investing your time and your energy on a kitchen that doesn't turn out how you want it. It's not that hard to learn, but learning about kitchen remodeling is well worth your time.

Washing machine problems: a cut and dry issue.

Without a shadow of a doubt, a washing machine is one of the most essential household appliances in any home and its proper functioning is vital for the smooth running of the house and so whenever it breaks down, the order that it brings with it tends to quickly evaporate as well.

Whilst calling for a repairman to come and repair is an option, this luxury of convenience has a rather steep price tag in terms of cost and time wasted. More often than not, a washing machine breaks down due to a rather straightforward mechanical fault, due to the high presence of water, the innards of the washing machine tend to rust and corrode and as a result do not work as smoothly as they should. Washing machine problems whilst a nuisance can be resolved with a degree of relative ease, all you need to do is to properly educate yourself as the working order of your machine.

Regardless of what the cause of washing machine problems maybe you must always disconnect the washing machine from the main power supply so as to safeguard against any danger to yourself, you may find yourself electrocuted if you are not careful!

If you decide to buy a new washing machine, make sure that you salvage some of the working components from your old machine as these will come in handy for washing machine problems you may have with your new machine. Whenever repairs are carried out on a washing machine, the spare parts used to repair the machine are added into the final invoice and the repairing company will charge a substantive premium for such a service. Having the necessary parts to hand is a great way of reducing the overall cost.

One of the most common washing machine problems (and fortunately easily solved) is a leaking washing machine. In order to remedy this most basic of washing machine problems, all you have to do is locate and then tighten the hose so as to prevent the water from leaking. It really is that simple! washing machine problems are for the most part easily resolved so long as you are prepared to get your hands dirty both literally and figuratively.

If after you use a spin cycle the clothes are still very wet, then again, the hose maybe the culprit so make you examine the hose. It maybe clogged with dirt or other material so make sure to give it a thorough clean so as to remove any obstacles that maybe interfering with the passage of water, please note that not dealing with a mechanical fault like this can lead to major damage in the long run.
